My name is Melinda Helms, and I am a freelance copywriter from Texas. I graduated from King’s College London in 2011 with an M.A. with merit in Classics, which was assessed by approximately 180 pages of essays and dissertation. Along the way, I developed my expertise in Roman history. As an undergraduate at the University of North Texas, my work was nominated for two departmental awards, and my undergraduate thesis won the Gil Samples Award for Best Undergraduate History Paper in 2007.
As an avid traveler and former study abroad student, I am passionate about sharing my travel tips and my knowledge of European locales, especially cultural and historic sites of London and central Italy. During my year abroad, I kept a comedic blog about my adventures and misadventures in Europe, and an excerpt entitled “Disappointment, Euphoria, and Other Strong Emotions" is to be published in November in an international online magazine, Downtown LA Life.
